Nice-Cannes Marathon 2026: getting around and reaching the airport on 8 November
On Sunday 8 November 2026, thousands of runners will make their way from Nice to Cannes along the seafront. A great day of sport, and a morning when it pays to plan your journeys, especially if you have a flight to catch.

01 · The race
The Marathon des Alpes-Maritimes in brief
Date: Sunday 8 November 2026, start at 8 am.
Start: Promenade des Anglais, Nice.
Finish: boulevard de la Croisette, Cannes.
The course follows the coast almost all the way and passes through seven towns: Nice, Saint-Laurent-du-Var, Cagnes-sur-Mer, Villeneuve-Loubet, Antibes Juan-les-Pins, Vallauris Golfe-Juan and Cannes. As well as the marathon, a 20 km race and relays start the same morning.
02 · Traffic
What changes on the road
The runners use the coast road. During the race, it is closed or heavily restricted, town by town, as the field passes through. Exact times are set by local traffic orders and published a few days before: check the organiser’s website and your town’s.
- In the morning, avoid the seafront between Nice and Cannes.
- For longer journeys, the A8 motorway remains the route to choose.
- In the town centres on the course, some streets leading to the seafront are also closed.
03 · Your flight
Reaching Nice Airport that day
The airport lies at the end of the Promenade des Anglais, very close to the course. If you have a flight on Sunday morning, leave earlier than usual and do not count on the seafront.
Our chauffeurs plan their route around the announced closures and use the motorway and inland roads. Give us your flight number when booking: we will suggest a pick-up time that suits the day.
04 · Runners and supporters
Running, or supporting a runner
- Before the start: a chauffeur can drop you as close as possible to the start area, before access is closed.
- After the finish: runners end up in Cannes, about thirty kilometres from where they started. Book your journey back to Nice or to your hotel in advance.
- In a group: the V-Class carries up to seven people with their bags.
For the rest of your stay, our Nice Airport to Cannes page describes the usual journey.
Before you go
Marathon course, times and registration
Official information (times, access, programme) is published on the Marathon des Alpes-Maritimes Nice-Cannes website. We recommend checking it a few days before you travel, as details can change.
The organiser publishes the detailed course, the start time of each race and practical information for runners there.
Race numbers are collected in the days before the marathon, at the race village: check the place and times on the official website. If you fly in the day before, plan a stop at the village before going to your hotel; your chauffeur can wait for you there.
For supporters, following the marathon by car is difficult, as the coast road is reserved for runners. The simplest approach is to choose one or two points on the course, then reach the finish in Cannes by motorway.
Booking your chauffeur in practice
Whatever your journey, booking follows the same steps.
- You tell us your journey. Pick-up address, destination, date, time, number of passengers and bags: the online booking form shows the price before you confirm anything.
- You choose your vehicle. Mercedes E-Class or S-Class saloon for up to three passengers, V-Class for up to seven.
- You receive a confirmation. It sums up your journey and the pick-up time.
- Your chauffeur is waiting. At the airport, he follows your flight and waiting time is included for up to one hour after landing.
Payment is by card online or in cash. Cancellation is free of charge more than 48 hours before departure. For a special request, a group or a chauffeur at your disposal, write to us: we reply with a quote.
