01 · The calendar

2026-2027 opening dates

Isola 2000: Saturday 5 December 2026, planned closing in April 2027.

Auron: Saturday 5 December 2026, planned closing on 12 April 2027.

Valberg: Saturday 19 December 2026, planned closing on 4 April 2027.

These are the dates announced by the resorts. They remain provisional: depending on snow conditions, an opening can be brought forward or pushed back by a week or two. Check the date on the resort’s official website before booking your stay.

19 December is also the first day of the French Christmas school holidays. It is the busiest weekend of the early season, on the road and in the resorts.

02 · The journey

Travel times from Nice Airport

The three main resorts of the Alpes-Maritimes are less than two hours from Nice Côte d’Azur Airport, on clear roads:

  • Isola 2000: 1 h 30 to 2 h, about 90 km, through the Tinée valley.
  • Auron: 1 h 30 to 2 h, 90 to 100 km, through the Tinée valley.
  • Valberg: about 1 h 45, just over 80 km, through the Cians gorges.

Allow more time on Saturdays during school holidays and when it snows on the last stretch. For a return flight, we agree the departure time from the resort with you and keep a safety margin.

03 · In winter

Mountain roads in winter: what to know

From 1 November to 31 March, vehicles driving in the mountain areas of the Alpes-Maritimes must have winter tyres or carry snow chains. The last kilometres to the resorts are mountain roads, with hairpin bends and sometimes snow or ice.

With a private chauffeur, you have nothing to worry about: the vehicle is equipped for snow, the driver knows these roads and checks traffic conditions before leaving. You step off the plane, your skis and luggage are loaded, and you arrive rested at your hotel or chalet.

04 · Our tips

Our tips for the first weekends

  • Book early for 19 December. The first Saturday of the Christmas holidays brings many arrivals at the airport and departures to the resorts.
  • Tell us about your equipment. Skis, snowboards, boots: mention them when booking so the vehicle has enough room.
  • Give us your flight number. Your chauffeur follows your landing time and waits for you, even if your flight is late.
  • Plan your return. At the end of your stay, leave the resort early, especially on a Saturday.

For the full list of resorts we serve, including La Colmiane, Gréolières-les-Neiges and Limone Piemonte, see our page on ski resort transfers from Nice Airport.

Booking your chauffeur in practice

Whatever your journey, booking follows the same steps.

  • You enter your journey. Pick-up address, resort, date, time, number of passengers and bags: the online calculator shows the price before you confirm.
  • You choose your vehicle. Mercedes E-Class or S-Class sedan for up to three passengers, V-Class for up to seven.
  • You receive a confirmation. It sums up your journey and pick-up time.
  • Your chauffeur is waiting. At the airport, your flight is tracked and waiting time is included up to one hour after landing.

You can pay online by card or in cash. Cancellation is free more than 48 hours before departure. For a group or a special request, write to us and we will reply with a quote.
